The City of Stockdale proudly celebrates the 82nd Annual Watermelon Jubilee, one of our community’s longest standing traditions. Each year, this beloved hometown celebration brings together residents, visitors, families, and businesses for a weekend full of rodeo action, live music, contests, and community fun.
The Watermelon Jubilee is organized and hosted each year by the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce, whose dedicated volunteers work throughout the year to bring this special event to life.
From the rodeo arena to Main Street and the city park, the Watermelon Jubilee celebrates the spirit, heritage, and hospitality that make Stockdale such a special place to call home.

🤠 Watermelon Jubilee Rodeo 🤠
The rodeo portion of the Jubilee is produced by Diamond Cross Rodeo Company, bringing professional rodeo entertainment to Stockdale each year.
Rodeo events feature exciting competitions and crowd favorites, including fan favorites like Mutton Bustin’, where young riders get their chance in the arena.
👑 Queen's Court 👑
The Watermelon Jubilee Queen’s Court is a long standing tradition that gives local students the opportunity to represent Stockdale while earning scholarship opportunities and serving the community.
Divisions include:

⭐ VIP Rodeo Suite Experience ⭐
New for the 2026 Jubilee is the Rodeo VIP Suite Experience, offering an upgraded way to enjoy the rodeo and concert.
VIP package includes:
• Private A/C suite overlooking the rodeo arena
• 10 VIP tickets per night
• Preferred parking at the rodeo arena
• Meals delivered to the suite
• Snacks and drinks provided
• VIP concert experience
$7,500 for both nights

Jubilee Royalty
The Watermelon Jubilee has two sets of royalty. Queen Melone and her court is more formal while the Rodeo Queen and her court have a western theme. The coronation of Queen Melone dates back to 1937 and the Rodeo Queen dates back to 1962. Both courts represent Stockdale at various parades and other events.
